In 1998, Stitch Headz began in Idaho with Slade fabricating his own custom interiors and car audio as a hobby. As people at car shows started to notice his custom interiors, by request his hobby grew into a full-time business doing custom automotive upholstery. Slade and his family relocated to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2007 where he continued to do custom upholstery. At customers' requests Stitch Headz began integrating custom sound systems into the interiors they were doing. In 2010 Stitch Headz was approached by multiple salesman representing the major car audio brands to open a retail storefront and carry their product. That is how Stitch Headz Car Audio came to exist.
The Car Audio department is managed by Josh. He has been with the company since we first started incorporating car audio. Josh is an extreme car audio enthusiast who went to Wyoming Technical institute for automotive mechanics. He worked full time as a mechanic specializing in drivability for many years. Josh began working for us part time on Saturdays (I believe mainly to get bigger discounts on car audio for himself!). After years of begging I was finally able to, financially, convince Josh into full time employment. Josh joining Stitch Headz not only increased our level of competence when working on the electronically complicated new vehicles, but also brought a technically sound ear for designing, staging and tuning car audio systems. Josh has a strong drive to become one of the best in the industry and is constantly striving to take his work to “the next level”.
